Safety Awards 2024: VAM Changzhou and Serimax Top the Podium
Congratulations to Vallourec units, VAM Changzhou and Serimax, for the remarkable progress they have made in health and safety, which has enabled them to win the Safety Awards 2024. These distinctions highlight the crucial importance of safety as a lever for operational excellence on a global scale, while fully in line with the new signature, “Safety Together We’re Safer”, launched by the Group earlier this year.
VAM Changzhou, a China-based plant specializing in premium seamless tubes for the energy sector, has been singled out for its exemplary safety management system and its commitment to ensuring a safe workplace. With a TRIR of zero by 2023 and no accidents in the last two years, VAM Changzhou has made excellent progress. This result reflects the constant efforts of its teams, the commitment of its management and the priority given to employee safety awareness and training.
Serimax, a Vallourec subsidiary offering fully integrated welding solutions for operations on land and at sea, was also rewarded for its unwavering commitment to safety in complex environments and often challenging conditions. In 2023, Serimax achieved a TRIR of 0.72 and has recorded no serious accidents or incidents so far in 2024, an exemplary performance that illustrates their vigilance and determination.
Together We’re Safer
Health and safety are core values at Vallourec, whose mission is to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for the well-being of its teams. With the launch of its “Together We're Safer” campaign in 2024, the Group aims to emphasize the vital importance of unity and collaboration in ensuring the health and safety of all its employees in the workplace. While to error is human, vigilance is a shared responsibility.
Together, we care for one another: “I take care of my colleagues, and they take care of me too.”
Nicolas Incarnato, Vallourec Group Vice President Health and Safety, said:
“These awards reflect the tireless efforts of our teams to make safety a top priority. Beyond the results and measures taken, these Safety Awards celebrate our ability to move forward together and motivate each other to strengthen our efforts and continue to progress along the path of excellence. Safety is a never-ending journey, with each step a new opportunity to challenge and excel ourselves and to go further.”
Kudos to VAM Changzhou and Serimax for their efforts to make our workplaces safer every day.
