Vallourec Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness: A Month of Global Solidarity

10/30/2024
Group

This year, Vallourec actively participated in the Pink October campaign to support the fight against breast cancer. Our teams around the world organized impactful initiatives to highlight the importance of prevention and early detection for everyone.

In Brazil, employees and their families attended an online talk on breast and cervical cancer prevention led by Dr. Rosa Rakell Borges Monteiro. The restaurants at our Barreiro, Jeceaba, and Mineração sites were decorated for the occasion, featuring a special menu, and employees were encouraged to wear pink to show their support.

In North America, Vallourec supported Jamie’s Hope by participating in a golf tournament. Our team highlighted the importance of regular screenings by serving golfers throughout the day in a friendly atmosphere.

In Saudi Arabia (VSA), a breast cancer awareness event brought the community together. Beautiful flowers with QR codes linking to official health resources were distributed, and the gathering ended on a sweet note with a shared cake to celebrate solidarity.

In France, Vallourec employees were invited to show their support by wearing pink—whether an accessory, a t-shirt, or even a full outfit. This initiative aimed to strengthen team spirit and raise awareness about breast cancer. Photo sessions were held at various sites, giving everyone a chance to capture this collective commitment and celebrate the unity that drives our support for this cause.

In Mexico, a series of workshops organized with a specialized lab educated employees on symptoms, self-exams, and the importance of early detection and timely treatment.

In Dubai, Angola and Malaysia, teams also showed their support by wearing pink ribbons and participating in various on-site activities.

These initiatives reflect our commitment to making Pink October a meaningful time for awareness and solidarity. As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” so take a look at our photos and experience these moments of support, sharing, and collective action.
