Strengthening American Industry with USOMA!
Vallourec Star plays a crucial role within the U.S. Oil Country Tubular Goods Manufacturers Association (USOMA), an organization dedicated to supporting the domestic industry and strengthening U.S. energy independence through localized, resilient manufacturing.
As a key USOMA member, Vallourec Star joins other industry leaders in protecting jobs and promoting fair competition. With 19 facilities across nine states employing around 7,500 people, the association’s members represent the backbone of U.S. OCTG production. Vallourec Star alone contributes with seven facilities in four states and nearly 1,500 employees, all dedicated to building a robust local industry.
USOMA represents American producers of OCTG, specializing in steel pipes used in oil and gas production. The association advocates for the domestic industry by addressing, among others, unfair trade practices and import duties. It collaborates with U.S. regulatory bodies to prevent practices like transshipment, where goods are relabeled to avoid tariffs. Members including Vallourec Star, Tenaris USA, Axis Pipe and Tube… aim to strengthen the U.S. OCTG industry to support national energy security and job creation
The importance of a strong domestic OCTG industry cannot be overstated: it reinforces America’s energy infrastructure while contributing to energy security. Vallourec Star is also committed to low-GHG products aligned with the sector’s decarbonization goals, meeting the evolving demands of the energy industry.
USOMA invests in America’s future by creating fair opportunities for workers and a supportive environment for manufacturers. Together, this partnership lays the foundation for a stronger economy and enhanced energy security with a sustainable, American-made OCTG production.
