Vallourec’s Participation in SPE Offshore Europe Aberdeen
Following a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, SPE Offshore Europe Exhibition and Conference made a comeback in Aberdeen, UK, from September 5 to 8, 2023. This event provided the perfect opportunity for Vallourec to reconnect with North Sea clients and engage with potential customers.
The North Sea is an important market for Vallourec. Recently, Vallourec announced it will supply Wintershall Dea with VAM® 21 connections, CRA casing and tubing with dope-free solution CLEANWELL®, as well as associated services, for the Luna and Havstjerne CCS sites in the North Sea.
Vallourec's booth at SPE in Hall 1 was a hub of activity where our experts engaged in meaningful conversations. The topics that took center stage were our VAM® SLIJ-3 connection, the CLEANWELL® dope-less solution, and our Pre-Installed Cable Protector. These solutions exemplify Vallourec's dedication to providing innovative solutions in the offshore energy sector.
VAM® SLIJ-3 is the latest generation of VAM® semi-flush premium connections with superior performance for ultra-deep offshore & HP/HT environments, extensively tested to the highest industry requirements: API RP 5C5:2017 CAL-IV. It is available with CLEANWELL®, the non-polluting dope-free solution which provides anti-corrosion & anti-galling properties and considerably improves make-up stability.
Vallourec also showcased its efforts in new energy solutions, including Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Hydrogen, demonstrating its commitment to the energy transition.
In addition to our presence in the exhibition, Jon Bibby, Pre-Installed Cable Protector Business Owner, delivered a technical presentation on the solution's advantages and applications. The Pre-Installed Cable Protector is pre-installed offline in the pipe yard and transported in rig-ready bundles or frames, speeding up run-in-hole and reducing the number of personnel required in the Red Zone to only one operator with the help of only one tool.
