Our welding subsidiary Serimax has recently completed their share of the Cluster 8 project for our customer L&T. What a wonderful performance for our teams!
Origin of the project
Larsen & Toubro, or L&T, is one of the largest private companies in India. It is specialized in technology, engineering, construction, and manufacturing, maintaining a leadership in all its lines of business and a strong customer-focused approach.
Due to a government strategy requiring that the country become more self-sufficient in terms of energy, India has become a highly critical market for Vallourec. The Cluster 8, is a cluster of wells developed offshore by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, or ONGC, the largest crude oil or natural gas company in India, contributing to around 75% to Indian domestic production. Submarine Pipelines were used to connect several Wellhead platforms which are ultimately connected to Mumbai port to be refined and distributed nationally.

Serimax has delivered way beyond our customer’s expectation! The figures are clear indicators of the amazing team spirits present on board. Indeed 99.7% welds were spotless on this 60km pipeline which demonstrate once again the added value of Serimax welding services. In terms of productivity, 3.5Km per day has been reached on the 6” line, which enhance project schedule and ultimately optimize Project overall cost for all parties involved.
