Eleven ambassadors in an official visit to the Valinox site in Montbard

13/09/2019 – Nuclear, Electrical Energy

Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne has chosen our Montbard plant to gather eleven French ambassadors.

The annual ambassador meetup

Following the G7 summit in Biarritz and as part of the 27th Annual Conference of Ambassadors, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State attached to France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and former Senator of Yonne, chose our Montbard factory in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region to bring together eleven French ambassadors (from Albania, Canada, Ecuador, Ghana, Guinea, Iraq, Mauritius, Mozambique, Pakistan, Portugal and Slovakia) on August 30.

The conference served as an opportunity for the diplomats to share their experiences and debate with elected officials, experts, as well as representatives from the private sector. The ambassadors have been visiting various French regions since last year to meet with a range of local stakeholders and support them in developing internationally.

A visit of our Valinox plant

This year, Valinox’s plant was chosen to host the event. Visitors were able to explore the Montbard site and learn about how the factory produces tubes for steam generators in nuclear power plants. The visit was complemented by a round table and a number of discussions, during which the ambassadors were able to promote the economic opportunities available in their home countries, but also discover the economic strengths of our region and the work of Team France Export.
During the visit, all the key elected officials from the region were present, including the Mayor of Montbard, Laurence Porte, the Prefect, the President of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, the local MP, the Senator of Côte d’Or, BPI representatives and, of course, representatives from Vallourec and Valinox in the form of Nicolas Moreau, Vice-President Development and Innovation for Power-Process-Industry product lines, and Henri de Fonvielle, Commercial Director.
