Energy transition

Vallourec has once again been selected as one of the 600 Financial Times’ Climate Leaders 2024. The Group was granted a score of 70.1 in the category ‘Machines & Industrial Equipment’, ranking #17 out of 40 companies.

Vallourec achieved its targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25% compared with 2017, two years ahead of schedule, in line with its trajectory validated by SBTi with a “well below 2°C” level. The Group is now aiming for a 35% reduction in the carbon intensity of its tubes by 2035 compared with 2021.

Vallourec’s decarbonization strategy and roadmap are driven at the highest level of its organization, underlining its long-term commitment to a more environmentally friendly future.

The Group’s continued inclusion in Europe’s Climate Leaders ranking is testament to its ongoing efforts and tangible impact on decarbonizing the industry.

Thanks to all our teams for their dedication and expertise. Together, we are forging a more sustainable future.

Scoring methodology

Europe’s Climate Leaders list identifies companies that are taking significant action to mitigate climate change. It includes a list of companies across Europe that have shown the highest reduction of their emission intensity between 2017 and 2022, which is to say, their core greenhouse gas emissions, as well as further climate-related engagements (e. g. collaboration with the CDP and SBTi, reduction of absolute emissions (scope 1 & 2) and transparency regarding scope 3 emissions).
