Revamping our VAM® Services website

Launched on July 1, 2021, the new VAM^® Services website is the latest in a series of digital upgrades designed to bring Vallourec customers the support they need. The website was developed over eighteen months by five Vallourec teams – Marketing & Development, R&D, Cloud IT, the VAM^® Data office and VAM^® Services – using a specially chosen process.

When we undertook this project, we decided to use the Agile development method. This iterative process enabled our developers to share early versions of the site with VAM^® experts worldwide, who then provided key feedback. In doing this, we could refine the site along the way, ensuring that the final version was accurate and approved by the whole VAM^® community.

The result is a modern website that enables clients to explore a comprehensive catalogue of VAM^® products.

Our twin priorities were improving the user interface and updating the product database. Our goal was to build a website where customers could quickly and easily find all the technical information required for any Vallourec product or set of products.

What’s new on the VAM® Services website?

The new VAM^® Services website incorporates a variety of features designed to help clients find the technical information and products they need. These include:

An updated Connection Datasheet finder interface
A centralized dashboard that stores past product searches
A tool for product comparison that can assess products side-by-side
A mixed torque calculator

By switching to serverless technology, we can regularly update the website without relying on an entire team of developers. Notably, this solution is also highly scalable; we can have any number of users on the site at once without seeing any change in application performance.

One solution in Vallourec’s growing digital ecosystem

Our updated VAM^® Services website is just one part of Vallourec’s ongoing initiative to provide new digital tools and services that make customers’ lives easier. It complements our projects for the use of remote technologies and AI solutions, and has helped lay the groundwork for a similar revamping of the My VAM^® website. “The world today is an increasingly online, connected place,” says Sylvain. “By taking this approach, Vallourec is staying at the forefront of digitalization for our industry.”
