VAM® Field Service UK obtains the API Q2 certification
The certification
API Q2 specification is the first ever quality management system (QMS) certification for service supply organizations in the oil & gas industry. Its approach to industry improvement is similar to that of API Q1 specification, which certifies oil & gas equipment manufacturers for their manufacturing processes.
Started in 2010, after the Macondo incident, the API Q2 specification was published to reduce risk and improve service quality for Oilfield Services companies. VAM® Field Service UK has been awarded with the second revision of this international standard. This award completes the certifications already obtained in the Group. In fact, all Vallourec plants are API Q1 certified and a number of other Vallourec entities already have API Q2 certification, including Vallourec Tubular Solutions in Brazil in 2018, VAM® USA in 2019 and VAM® Far East in 2020.
VAM® Field Service UK is at the forefront of field services to help operators reduce running costs and improve operational efficiency, thanks to a large portfolio that includes rig running supervision, assembly make-up supervision and pipe inspection. The team, located in Aberdeen, Scotland, dedicated time and effort to meet the rigorous standards of API Q2 and join the small group of just 18 companies (including two other VAM® Field Service centers) to be accredited to API Q2 second edition.
